JAMIE’S THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE

Jamie will be tackling the three peaks challenge in aid of Broadlands!

This challenge comprises of climbing the three tallest Mountains in the UK, Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lakes and Snowdon in Wales all within 24 hours start to finish.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft).The total driving distance is 462 miles. All while trying to raise some money for Broadlands RDA which provides riding and pony therapy for disabled riders.

Broadlands is a charity close to his heart, Stanley (his stepson) has been visiting for sometime and the sheer enjoyment  he experiences and the self development he has made is just a joy to see.

Being in the presence of a pony that is calm and relaxed helps children disconnect from upsetting thoughts, emotions and other stresses that disrupt our inner peace. By opening children up to a state of mind and body that enables self‑awareness and positive new learning can be life changing.

Interaction with the pony can increase self-awareness; the pony will respond to their body language, breathing, heart rate and emotional energy. This kind of ‘mirroring’ behaviour can provide the children with a strong visual cue to help develop awareness of their own emotional energy and body language.

Please help and support us so we can continue to offer therapy to Stanley and the many other children that attend and gain so much from Broadlands.
