A Tale of Unlikely Heroes: The Unseen Adventures of Kingsley and the Refurbished Lift!

Welcome to another exciting update from the world of Broadlands! Today, we delve into the tales of some unexpected heroes—Kingsley the Miniature Shetland and the unsung champions behind the new hydraulic lift and rail installation.

The Referbished Ramp and Lift projects

Our community at Broadlands is buzzing with excitement as the long-awaited lift and railing project nears completion. Thanks to the dedication of our maintenance volunteer team, another job ticked off the list. The ramp, built to meet regulation standards, is set to provide safe access for all our visitors. A heartfelt thank you to The Bruce Wake Charitable Trust, Aladdin’s Cave Charity Shop, and the Four Marks News for their generous sponsorship, making this project possible. And a special shoutout to Suzanne, who has been busy planting the new flower bed with donations of plants and shrubs from Hawbridge Farm.

Kingsley - A Small Wonder

In the midst of our bustling activities, let's shine the spotlight on Kingsley, our pint-sized hero with a heart of gold. Whether he's practicing 'Ride and Lead' with Megan, or out for a hack with Fee and Millie, Kingsley's spirit knows no bounds. His field mate, Bracken, stands by his side, a silent witness to his mischievous adventures. Did you know that Kingsley is a master of mischief, using his whiskers to test the electric fence's boundaries? Paige recently had to reinforce the fence to keep this curious out of his winter grazing—three lines of tape connected to a battery are all that's standing between Kingsley and too much tasty grass!

Pony Watching in the New Forest

Venturing beyond Broadlands, our Suzanne recently visited the New Forest. Picnicking at Wilverley Inclosure, Suzanne and Gerry were greeted by a sight to behold—ponies galore! Despite their gentle demeanor, it's crucial to respect these majestic creatures by refraining from feeding or petting them. In light of the prevalent equine disease, Strangles, precautions are paramount. Though the ponies seemed healthy during our visit, they maintained a safe distance and followed hygiene practices when returning to Broadlands to avoid any cross contamination.

As we wrap up this chapter of unseen adventures and unlikely heroes, let's remember the magic that unfolds when community spirit and compassion join forces. From the new ramp's rising to Kingsley's miniature escapades, each story weaves a tapestry of resilience and joy. Stay tuned for more tales from Broadlands, where even the smallest heroes cast the longest shadows on our hearts.
